Current Resources & Expansion Potential:
Minefinders Corporation Ltd. has been involved in full-scale minerals exploration since early 1995. These efforts have resulted in discovery of 3 million ounces of gold and 165 million ounces of silver resource. Ongoing exploration work on our portfolio of properties in the US and Mexico has the potential to contribute new multi-million ounce deposits to the resource base.
Development Stage:
Minefinders’ Dolores deposit is a large gold-silver reserve, with substantial additional resources. The company received a positive feasibility study in February 2006 and has initiated construction of a conventional open-pit, heap leach mine at Dolores.
Management is considering the addition of a mill to improve overall gold and silver production, as well as the addition of an underground mining operation to access deep, high-grade gold-silver mineralization below the proposed open pit. Ongoing exploration work has the potential to continue to increase the size of the project.
Resource Projects:
The La Bolsa Resource , currently over 208,000 ounces of gold and 2 million ounces of silver, has excellent expansion potential. In the immediate resource area, surface mineralization three times the area of the anomaly which defines the existing resource has been delineated through grid sampling. Further drilling will focus on expanding the resource toward this additional surface mineralization. The Company is evaluating the economics of the project either as a standalone operation, or in conjunction with some other prospects in the same district.
Grass-Roots Exploration:
Minefinders is actively exploring in Mexico and the US on several prospective precious metals prospects. Precious Metals exploration is a high-risk, high reward endeavor, and we strive to review prospects, advance the best targets to a drill stage, and drill-test the prospects quickly and efficiently. We keep prospects with a good potential for developing economic reserves, and drop those which don't meet this critereon. Current drill targets are Real Viejo & Planchas de Plata. Additional prospects are being evaluated and information will be made available as property positions are secured.
